The County of Salop Steam Engine Society celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary throughout 2011, culminating in the largest steam rally that we’ve ever had the pleasure of organised for our loyal visitors. And we thank everyone that came along and joined in our celebrations and helped to make it such a memorable weekend.

Visitors to our 2011 rally got the chance to view just a fraction of the hard work that our Society Archivist, Mike Llewellyn, had put in over the months running up to the rally. The collection proved to be so popular that we’re hoping to make it a more permenant display at future rallies.
Mike is still busy with the expanding collection and is seeking help from enthusiasts in finding out more about the history of The County of Salop Steam Engine Society which started in a small field in Church Stretton. If you do have any photos then please contact Mike Llewellyn on 01743 245835.
