The Main Arena
The main arena is the venue for displays of attractive showmen's engines, cavalcades of well-loved traction engines, enormous steam rollers, and the ever-popular heavy horses. The arena provides a great way to see rare examples of a bygone age of engineering excellence in action... Displays of vintage tractors on the move, a convoy of the best British Lorries (8-wheelers), vintage cycles and perambulators (with many entrants in period costume), pre and post World War II cars, veteran cars, classic motorcycles, steam cars... and much, much more! Add the fantastic falconry displays and you have some great entertainment for all the family.
The Main Showground
The showground will play host to over 1,000 vehicles and an impressive variety of working displays. Preserved private and commercial have a significant presence, reflecting the growing interest in restoration. There's an olde time fair, oil engines, miniature steam engines, cars, motorcycles, fairground organs, birds of prey (arena and static display), craft marquee and of course a bar and plenty of refreshments! And if you've still got time to spare there's 6 acres of trade stands to peruse at your hearts content!
The Working Field
In an age where so many steam and vintage vehicles are sold to museums only to be demoted to static displays, as well as modern day health and safety shuddering at the lack of safety guards used in the olden days, the working field at Onslow Park is very much as it says on the tin! There's everything from ploughing by huge steam engines, steam cultivation, corn cutting and harvesting with reaper binders, to chaff cutting and hammer milling involving early tractors and other machines. For the tractor enthusiast the Rally has 140 tractors in view. Teams of shire horses will be ploughing part of the site, and there will also be tractor pulling and cider making.
