About Shrewsbury Steam Rally
The annual Shrewsbury Steam Rally is one of Shropshire’s biggest events of the year, with something for all the family. A fantastic two-day event held over the August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, within the picturesque venue of Onslow Park, just outside of Shrewsbury.
Each year the Rally attracts thousands of people to marvel at the many vintage and steam-powered vehicles of all shapes and sizes, either in action in the Main Arena or on static display for closer inspection.

The Main Arena
The Main Arena is the centrepiece of the event, with the Grand Parade of Steam Engines, set to nostalgic music and poetry – a memorable highlight for many people. There are also parades of all kinds of other vehicles, from historic lorries, classic cars and motorcycles, to heavy horses, prams and bicycles.

Working Field

Our working field brings the past back to life with demonstrations showing the history of farming and rural skills through the last century, with teams of shire horses ploughing part of the site, as well as steam-powered cultivating.
Crafts & Hobbies

With the ever-expanding Crafts & Hobbies Marquee and over six acres of Trade Stands, there’s plenty to browse in that never-ending search for a bargain.
Other Attractions

There’s plenty of food and drink at stalls around the Rally site, as well as a licensed bar. Everywhere you look there’s vintage machinery in pristine condition, as well as an Olde Time Fairground and organs.

The Shrewsbury Steam Rally is organised by The County of Salop Steam Engine Society Ltd, a not for profit organisation with the sole purpose of furthering the interest in, the preservation of, and the promotion of steam and vintage vehicles as something worth preserving. All funds generated by the Rally are for the sole purpose of building awareness and promoting steam engines and vintage vehicles. Your ticket contribution is helping raise money and allowing us to advance our society’s aim of preservation of steam engines.
