Important Safety Notice: NO BBQs and Fires

As we gear up for this year’s Shrewsbury Steam Rally, we are incredibly excited to welcome all of our exhibitors, visitors, and campers. However, the safety of our attendees, our beautiful venue, and the surrounding environment must always be our top priority.

Due to the continued heatwaves across the UK and the significantly increased risk of wildfires, we have made the necessary decision to implement a strict NO BBQs and fires policy for the duration of the event.

What You Need to Know

To ensure a safe and enjoyable weekend for everyone, please be aware of the following event guidelines:

  • Complete Ban: No barbecues (including disposable ones), fire pits, or open flames of any kind are permitted anywhere on the rally grounds or within the camping areas.
  • Enhanced Fire Safety Measures: For your peace of mind, we have increased our dedicated on-site fire team and upgraded our firefighting facilities across the venue to ensure rapid response capabilities.
  • Updated Site Rules: We have updated our official Site Rules to reflect this critical safety change. All campers will receive a physical copy of these updated rules upon entering the site.
  • Clear Signage: To help remind everyone of this measure, visual notices will be placed throughout the camping areas.

Your Cooperation is Appreciated

We understand that a campsite BBQ is a traditional part of the rally experience for many, but the current dry conditions make the risk of fire simply too great. We kindly ask for your full cooperation with our stewards and security teams, who will be actively enforcing this policy to keep everyone safe.

Don’t worry about missing out on great food—we have a wide variety of fantastic on-site catering options available throughout the weekend!

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep the Shrewsbury Steam Rally safe for everyone. We look forward to a fantastic event.
