OFFICIAL STATUS UPDATE: 4th May 2020
The organising committee for Shrewsbury Steam Rally has now had the chance to review all the currently available information from the Government and held a somewhat unusual Committee meeting via conference call.
During the meeting, the committee unanimously decided that the 2020 Shrewsbury Steam Rally will now very sadly need to be cancelled. We feel this decision was held off for as long as sensibly possible. However, the conclusion of the meeting was that this is now the responsible course to take to ensure everybody’s health and wellbeing, as well as allowing good time to do everything necessary in this unfortunate situation.
We would just like to take this opportunity to thank all our service providers, exhibitors and volunteers for their understanding and co-operation during this uncertain period. We really look forward to working with you all again in the run-up to Shrewsbury Steam Rally 2021.
Moving forward, our focus will obviously now turn towards our 2021 Rally, which will also be the 60th year of our society, and we, therefore, intend to celebrate our Diamond Anniversary with a spectacular event. We look forward to you all being able to join us again next year on the usual August Bank Holiday weekend – Sunday & Monday 29th & 30th August 2021.
In the meantime, we sincerely wish you all the very best of health, and please do stay safe.
