New for the 2017 Rally – The Portsmouth Action Field Gun Display Team will be performing a truly spectacular event called the South Africa Challenge, when a Command 1 tonne, 12-pounder field gun and limber (a two-wheeled cart designed to support the trail and the stock of a field carriage) will be raced across the main arena.
After the recent years of one dry rally day followed by a wet day, it made a nice change to have the forecasted weather for the two rally days looking reasonably bright, but not too hot!
There’s a definite growing interest in steam threshing in Shropshire; as more and more derelict threshing boxes are springing back to life, with a ‘sight, sound and smell’ to behold.
